‘The Forgotten Garden’, by Kate Morton Book Reviews

Well I was absolutely entranced by this book. It was a book assigned via my book club that I have been in for about 12 years and as a bunch of smart women who read a lot pitch and vote on the books they are usually pretty good. The story was woven through three different generations and moved around from time period to time period. Part creepy gothic, part family drama, part mystery and all good. The story open with a small girl being abandoned on a steamship headed to Australia from England and the story is all around solving the mystery of this little girl’s origin. Lots of rich context in the setting of Cornwall and the author draws out empathy for even the hard to lie characters.

Would I recommend? YES! Im going to find out what else this author has written and devour it all.
